Corrections and Content Review Policy

Our commitment

Australian Home Collective aims to publish practical, accurate and trustworthy information that helps Australians make better home-planning and buying decisions.

Despite careful editorial review, mistakes can occur and information can become outdated as products, specifications, official guidance and manufacturer requirements change. When this happens, we are committed to reviewing the issue and correcting the publication appropriately.

Reporting an issue

We welcome reports about:

• incorrect or outdated information
• broken or misdirected links
• unclear or potentially misleading wording
• important omissions
• accessibility barriers
• unexpected behaviour in a planning tool

Use our contact page and include the page address and enough detail for us to understand the issue. Every substantive report will be reviewed, although we may not be able to respond individually to every message.

How we assess corrections

We consider:

• the accuracy and source of the reported information
• current manufacturer documentation
• authoritative Australian guidance where relevant
• whether the issue changes the advice or outcome materially
• the potential effect on a reader's decision or safety
• whether related pages or tools may contain the same issue

Minor spelling, grammar, formatting and broken-link corrections may be made without a public correction note.

Significant corrections

When a significant factual error is confirmed, we aim to correct it as soon as reasonably practicable. Depending on the issue, we may:

• correct or remove wording
• add a clarification or limitation
• revise a recommendation
• correct tool logic or suspend a tool while it is investigated
• update related guidance
• add a visible correction note where readers would benefit from knowing what changed

Content reviews

Published content is reviewed periodically to improve:

• accuracy and current references
• clarity and readability
• practical usefulness
• internal links and related guidance
• accessibility
• explanations of assumptions, risks and limitations

Reviews may also be triggered by changes to a product category, updated manufacturer or official guidance, material reader feedback, a correction made to related content, tool or browser changes, or evidence that readers are misunderstanding a page.

Published and updated dates

A Published date records when an article was first published. An Updateddate is changed only after a substantive review or correction that affects the article's usefulness or accuracy. Dates are not changed for trivial formatting edits alone.

Tool corrections and incidents

Reports of incorrect calculations, misleading results, data loss or other material tool failures are prioritised according to potential reader impact. Where necessary, we may temporarily disable a tool or affected feature while it is investigated. A corrected tool must be retested before release.

Editorial responsibility

Australian Home Collective is responsible for the content it publishes. Where uncertainty exists, we aim to explain the limitation rather than present an assumption as fact.

Continuous improvement

Improving existing content is an ongoing part of our editorial process. Guides may be expanded or refined as better sources, practical considerations and reader feedback become available.

Our goal is not simply to publish more. It is to maintain a resource readers can return to with confidence when planning purchases for their homes.
