About Australian Home Collective

Australian Home Collective is a registered Australian business and an independent Australian home-planning publication.

Our mission is simple: help Australians plan better and buy smarter.

We write about the decisions that come before a purchase. Instead of beginning with a product list, we look at the room, the problem and the routine the item has to support.

Home purchases often disappoint for ordinary reasons: the item does not fit, cannot be cleaned properly, gets in the way or solves a problem the household did not really have.

A few checks beforehand can save money and leave the room easier to live with.

What the site covers

The site is for people who want to understand the trade-offs before spending money on the home.

Our approach

Depending on the subject, a guide may look at:

A product can look convincing online and still be wrong for a particular home. Measurements, layout, habits and upkeep often tell you more than the product photo.

How to read our guides

Australian Home Collective does not claim to personally test every product mentioned unless an article clearly says so.

When a guide discusses a product type, it explains where that item may help, how much room it needs and where it commonly causes trouble.

When a named product genuinely helps solve the decision covered by a guide, we may include a research-supported option with its suitability, drawbacks and current retailer details. We do not add products simply because an affiliate link is available.

Some product links are affiliate links. If a reader makes a qualifying purchase, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to them. This revenue helps fund the publication while commercial relationships remain separate from our editorial conclusions. Read our Affiliate Disclosure.

Why this matters

A good home guide should help readers avoid a poor purchase and recognise when they already have enough.

Sometimes the best answer is to measure first. Sometimes it is to clear duplicates. Sometimes it is to choose a removable option for a rental. Sometimes it is not to buy anything yet.

Those are the decisions Australian Home Collective is here to help with.

Plan Better. Buy Smarter.
